30. La Sagrada Familia

Barcelona, Spain

No building is like the Sagrada Familia. It’s somewhere between MC Escher, Michelangelo, and Fritz Lang. I had been outside of the Sagrada Familia once before, when I was visiting my Uncle who lives in Spain. However I had never been inside. The interior was spellbinding. Abstract depictions of classical Christian iconography, massive stained glass windows that flooded the nave with brilliant reds and blues. Windows, passages, and portals that led to all different hidden chambers of the church. Without a doubt, it was the most breathtaking and unique building I’ve ever been inside.
