I can’t think of a photograph that does Italy more justice than this. Beautiful skies, incredible architecture, mopeds, absurd traffic conditions, reckless driving, and a massive monument colloquially called “the wedding cake”. All this photo needs is a glass of vino and some Andrea Pirlo to really solidify its place as the most Italian photo of all time. What I really loved about Italy was the sense of passion.
You always hear about how emotional Italians are but you never really see it until you’re at the airport in Naples and a man is speaking almost entirely by moving his arms and hands. You don’t experience it until you taste a place of Spaghetti Carbonara from the old Jewish neighborhood in Rome. You don’t understand it until you’re in the Italian countryside sipping some wine and taking in the endless haze of the sun. I really love Italy it’s a wonderful country. The spirit of its people, its culture, its immense appreciation for the good things in life: food, company, wine, and art.
