All along the Amalfi coast were a smattering of small villages. Besides the beautiful waterfronts and breathtaking views, what I loved about these outcroppings of civilization were how they blended in seamlessly with the natural topography. It felt like when they were building these villages along the coast the architects wanted to build with the rolling hills and towering cliffs.
After a long bus ride and walk along the clifftop roads we arrived in Positano. The beach here was perfect. Because it was the offseason on the Amalfi coast, the towns and cities felt almost abandoned. It must have been how an explorer of the amazon rainforest felt discovering a Mayan ruin. I cannot really imagine what it is like to live here. Waking up every morning to this must be magical.
